In the heart of New York City, the Marriott Midtown Manhattan is the first hotel in the city to provide its own heating, cooling and electricity on-site with Capstone’s C60 micro turbines and CHP system, while Couples Resorts saves over 1750 tons of greenhouse gas emissions annually with their Capstone micro turbines.

 

Providing customized micro grid solutions and on-site energy technology systems to hotels and resorts, Capstone Green Energy has shipped over 10,000 units to 83 countries and in FY21, saved customers an estimated US$ 217 million in annual energy costs and 397,000 tons of carbon. 

Determined to meet the company’s goal to reduce its carbon intensity 50% by 2030, MGM Resorts International chose Caterpillar’s  Solar Mercury 50 and 8.2 MW CHP system. The industry-leading system provides more than 25% of electricity used at their Las Vegas CityCenter campus and gives the Aria Resort & Casino a measure of resiliency from the local electricity grid that other resorts do not enjoy.

 

Besides hotels and resorts, Solar Mercury turbines provide clean, sustainable energy solutions throughout the world to universities, hospitals, industrial sites and more. Operating on a wide variety of fuels, including natural gas, distillates, NGL, LNG, coal-seam methane, hydrogen, and renewable fuels, such as landfill and sewage gasses, Solar Mercury turbines are used in electric power generation, gas compression and pumping systems.

For WhistlePig, a crafter of some of the most sought after and priciest rye whiskey from its picturesque 500-acre Vermont farm, Panasonic solar solutions offered a way to produce clean energy at their bottling plant and warehouse, with a dramatic looking rooftop designed to feature the distinctive company logo.  The array produces 4,500 kWh of solar energy every month, about five times more than the average monthly usage of an American home, and reduces greenhouse gas by the equivalent of 90,000 gallons of gasoline consumed.

America’s Photovoltaic (PV) solar module company Mission Solar Energy was recognized in the 2019 Edition PV Module Index, as a high achievement manufacturer and ranking top 10 of all modules tested for LID. The RETC index is a yearly compilation of reliability, performance, and quality indices generated in collaboration with leading PV module manufactures.

 

Mission Solar Energy was recognized in the report as one of the manufacturers achieving less than 1% of degradation in the dynamic mechanical load test.  Following that achievement, they were also ranked Top 10 of all modules tested for LID.

 

With their “mission” to continue developing high-efficiency solar technology and supporting production improvements, San Antonio-based Mission Solar is a good fit especially for remote hotels and resorts in the southwest United States, where the energy infrastructure is not as robust as in more populated areas.  Their panels are backed by a 25- year power and product warranty.

Larger full-service hotels and resorts can benefit from Silfab Solar’s commercial panels, which have been trusted to provide energy solutions for US military buildings, national retail chains and US sports stadiums.  Recently Silfab Solar manufactured approximately 36,500 SimbaX enhanced bifacial panels featuring SiPV performance enhancing technology for the Alberta Solar One utility, a 13.7MW project in Burdett, Alberta.  The project will supply the equivalent energy needs of about 3,000 homes, offsetting about 12,000 tonnes of carbon annually.

land.  REC has already installed its solar panels at ten such hospitals as part of The U.S.Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) goal to increase renewable energy consumption to 15 percent of their annual energy consumption.

 

REC also supplied 3,683 solar panels to produce clean electricity powering the Heineken Wiekse Beer brewery, the fourth in Heineken’s growing portfolio of solarpowered breweries The system produces electricity equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of approximately 244 households.
